Description

This stylish, Made-in-Italy overshirt jacket features a blue version of the perennially fashionable Buffalo plaid pattern. This particular plaid belongs to the Clan MacGregor and is believed to have been brought to North America in the 1800s by pioneer Jock McCluskey, a descendent of Scottish outlaw and folk hero, Rob Roy MacGregor. McClusky was a larger-than-life adventurer who befriended and traded with the Native Americans — who were particularly drawn to items sporting the MacGregor tartan, which McCluskey exchanged for buffalo pelts. It is believed that the indigenous Americans had difficulty pronouncing the Scottish word for blanket, pladger, and mispronounced it as “plaid.” While it may be unclear how much of this story is legend, one thing is certain: Buffalo plaid is a must-have of the modern male wardrobe. 100% Wool Dry Clean Only Made in Italy.
